Mel Anderson Memorial Pathway
Located in northwest Rockford, this 3 mile paved pathway is perfect for a
stroll or bike ride along Kent Creek between Talcott-Page and Lockwood Parks.
Along the way, you can stop to play on the playground in Talcott-Page Park,
enjoy a beautiful natural prairie in Searls Park, or cross Safford Road and
check out the fun to be found at Lockwood Park. This path opened in 1987, and is
named for long-time Seventh Ward Alderman Mel Anderson. To easily access the
path, park at Talcott-Page Park on Arthur Ave., at the Northwest Community
Center at 1325 N. Johnston Ave., at Searls Park at Kilburn and Central Ave., or
at Lockwood Park on Safford Road. Click
